Backlash

Well side from cooky Pat having to back his crazy truck up about 200 political yards it looks like the "W" is maintaining a completely "hands off" stance on making any statements about his gravy boat making terrorist statements.
And it pisses me off.
I voted for this guy, he ran a platform of honesty integrity and doing what needed to be done for the good of the nation, moral authority and so on.
Well all I have seen happen is 1800 dead patriots, gas prices rising so high so fast I may be walking to work in a couple of weeks, and an endless stream of his "base" doing/saying whatever the hell they please without fear of recrimination from the public at large or any "standards" the administration theoretically has.

He's turning into a big fat liar. I would now put him in the same boat with Bill Clinton. Just a complete SHAM!
The difference to me is that Bill was a liar and a creep but his lying creepness mainly had to do with chasin' some tang!
W's lying creepness has to do with giving billions of dollars of our money to his close friends, and letting the OIL CARTEL do as it pleases.

Why hasn't "W" made any public threats of opening the strategic oil reserves?
It worked during the Clinton admin.
Gas tarted going high and fast and several memebers of congress andthe president started talking aobut it and boom, prices leveled and fell a bit.

I remember it. I know some of you do too.
I think "W" doesn't do it cause he doesn't want his buddies in the oil biz to lose any cash. Simple as that. He came from big oil, he is in bed with big oil to the degree that his VP IS big oil.
His weener is dripping sweet crude as we speak I would wager!

I am wondering if there is going to be any backlash, after the Iraq veterans all get home, and find out that it is nearly impossible to buy a house drive a car or get a good job.
They spent 1-2 years technically not working a normal job, so human resources people are already talking about "post traumatic stress" employees and that they are being told to be gunshy of "recent hero" applicants who may go bonkers in the company lounge and cut someones heart out when a car backfires outside.
YEEEEEHAW!
Lets send em off to war, and then totaly ignore'em when they come back.
I've already seen 5 stories in the mainstream media about Iraq veterans coming home and being broke and homeless within 6 months, and being in a position where the only option they had was to re-inlist in the military and get sent right back to Iraq.
Yeah, OBVIOUSLY "W" has the soldiers on his mind.
While congress is busy giving itself a raise and simultaneously closing bases, and trying to cut back on death benefit spending on military personell killed in "non combat" situations, and DAMN IT ALL EVEN FRIENDLY FIRE ACCIDENTS!
They actually want to LOWER the death benefit if a soldier dies in a non combat event EVEN IF IT IS A GUN THAT KILLS THEM!
THAT'S TOTAL BULLSHIT!

So I am getting more and more angry about all of this, and everyone around me keeps throwing me these statements like "How are you surprised by all of this, they are all politicians, they are all dirty" and "Of course it's about money, that's all they care about"!

THIS PISSES ME OFF EVEN MORE!
Honestly, if you are that cynical and things are that bad then you need to pick up a megaphone in one hand and a rifle in the other and start asking people to "WAKE UP" and smell the need for revolution.
I don't think things are bad enough to revolt but god help me I would if I thought it was needed.
I really would.

That is what I have promised to do by agreeing to be an american, and believing in The Constitution of The United States of America!
It actually means something! OK Vigilence against oppression and tyranny is not just some catchy phrase meant to impress the chicks!
It is a promise and a declaration of intent given to us by the founders, as a promise that we can and should take charge of our nation at any point that a "group" or self realized "class" decides that it is no longer truly ours to govern and benefit from.

Yes the founders were considered "upper class" in the time when they created this noble experiment, but they also specificly designed the system so that the common man, joe nobody, YOU AND I, can and should take the bull by the horns and wrestle it's ass to the ground
and brand that sucker with the red hot poker of ownership as Americans!
I mean it.
That's what the system was designed for. To leave enough personal rights to the common citizen that it is difficult to actually turn the system into an autocracy at any point down the road.

OK, I think I get the hint.
Maybe it really is the case that most people are too stupid and too apathetic and would rather worry about "Who is going to have sex with who on the next season of American Idle.
Ok.
Once I feel it is bad enough I'll let you all know what country I am going to move to.
It would be easier than trying to actually affect positive change in Mc'Merica!

Uh-oh. I hope you're not planning to fly anytime soon. You know, Bush's Praetorian Guard probably has you on the "Terrorist Watch List" now. ;-)

Seriously, though, I agree with you 100%. It's about time people wake the fuck up and start performing their duties as citizens.

I'm wondering lately -- with the grwong divide between social liberals and social conservatives -- if we are indded headed for civil war in this country within the next few generations. I certainly hope not, but neither side seems to be willing to give an inch.

Yeah. "Grwong" is my new word for "growing". Deal with it.
