Home Sweet H0me.

Well it is official.
Tami and I are now the proud owners of our first home.
Both of our names are on the deed and mortgage and title (as soon as we get it).

Now the problems kicked in as soon as we signed the papers.

The estimate we were given on getting central air installed went up by $800.00 . So that pretty much kills all of the cash we had saved and would require us to dip into the checking surplus (minor as it is) which neither of us is really willing to do.
We were first told the AC would be 2300 .
Last call said that the AC would be 3100.
So now we don't have money set aside for the carpet or the stove or the dishwasher. The dishwasher is probably going to be something put on hold for a while.
That 800 dollars almost precisely covers what we needed for the carpeting and stove. 300 for a stove and 500 for carpeting if I installed it. Which I can do.
Let alone starting the painting.
I'm not sure how we can get AC cheaper, but I am bound to find out. Most probably I will have to so some of the duct work myself and then just pay for the unit and installation. At this point I am OK with that.

Oh well.
Donations welcome.

Having a window unit in every window isn't all that impractical - and since they stick out of the house, you can easily nick them from other peoples' houses, further reducing the cost.

Yes, put up pictures of the kids so I can make stamps.

Are you thinking of a built in dishwasher or a portable unit? The boys will soon be old enough to do dishes.

Find an office building where they replace the carpets every six months and raid the throwaway. This is usually the heavy duty stuff that can take abuse.

DUDE I need to know if there is some space to store images that I can use in my blogs.
I wanna show the house in progress and the kids and Tam and so on.

No used stained traffic wayed carpet.

I'll pinch a penny where I can but that's too far.
