Multi-topical
This is a multi-layered post.
First I solved the air issue. I am buying the AC unit and some ducting and installing it myself. Overall it is going to cost me 1600.00 to do it myself and I get a 4 ton AC unit instead of a 3 ton AC unit. TAKE THAT HVAC BITCHES!
Second, My plan of home ownership is just in time since the old two a house over from Tams parents died last week and his 20 year old 3 br 2 bth is now listed on the market for 230,000.00
HOT DAMN. That means if I build within the next 5 years my house will be easily sellable for 300g's and all I will have put in is 100g's for the dirt and 120g's for the house construction if I do much of it myself.
WOOHOO 80 grand profit as soon as it is built. If I build a nicer house then it will be worth more. Hot Damn!
Thirdly I am totaly bummed out.
I have started checking blogs of other people I know.
Notably Christy at work, and Darcy when Christy gave me Darcy's blog addy.
Darcy worked with me shortly at Diversions.
Well I like to think people remember me. That in general I have an impact in their life, especially when we talk and hang out and so on.
Yeah boy was I wrong.
Neither Christy nor Darcy have mentioned me in their blogs. Even though Darcy talked about Juan, and Christy talked about Kent.
So I am doing something wrong. I am not as likeable and rememberable as I thought I was.
Is that conceit? Vanity?
Probably. It's probably also why noone mentions me. Apparently I suck and I was not aware of it.
I don't know how to fix it since just until today I wasn't even aware I was a loser. But I will think it over and try to figure out if there is something obvious I can do.
Please feel free to comment. You guys know me, you can tell me what my problem is.
I'll listen, I swear.
Oh and since I am at it, I should make some acknowledgements of my own.
Work people:
Kent Weeks, cool guy who started working with me in April. He digs board games and star trek and is quasi-british. He has some history with my boss Chris Laventure, who is also a really cool guy and a badass dart thrower I'd like to hang out with but now that he is my boss I don't see it happening anytime soon.
For whatever reason the boss line still exists.
Aurthur Sencil. Way cool guy I work with who is truly becoming a friend in the long run. He's old as dirt (hehe) but that doesn't stop him from being the closest thing to a ninja I have interacting with my meager existence. Arthur is also some kind of billiards god and he is the one who set up the benefit tourney for Aaron. He has a very talented daughter and a terribly sweet girlfriend.
Christy Allen (aka Christina) She just started working with us and within a week stole someones truck and used it to help me carry drywall and plywood supplies to the new house. She is a sweetheart even though she is from Georgia, or Bama. Somewhere deep deep south.
Dave Downey: THE MAN! Dave is alot like my friend Justin Oakley in that he makes the bling, has no kids, and has the lifestyle most of us married guys wish they had but wouldn't want anymore after we lost what it is we have now.
He gets all the toys he wants and pretty much does as he pleases. And he is funny as hell. Downey is another one of those billiards playing hercules people. Dave is also hell to beat with darts.
Kurt (sunshine) Melander. Kurt is gruff, and curmudgeony, but always ready to smile and joke around. A real old school guys guy. Dig it.
Lisa: Lisa threatens people and hits them. ( Aurthur being her favorite target, Dave second and me third) I don't know what else to say about that.
Home People:
My boo. Tami
She is the best. I love her to death and I would do anything for her. And I try to whenever I get the chance.
I just wish she would do something about her adhd innattentive. Love you punkin!
Rob my homey my dawg, mah G. Er'body who know me know Rob. Riz--ob da Biz--omb!
The Boys: all four of the little monkies. Love em to death, how could I not.
Tami's parents. ROCK! They let us mooch off them while we were trying to buy a house. And it paid off.
Tami's friend Amber. Sweet girl who just can't seem to catch a break and spends more than her fair share of time admiring her own rack.
And other people. Family and so on. You know I loves ya's!
Yes especially You Q and Vicky!
Q is still my best friend and Vicky will be a good friend as soon as we can pull it off.
You are now on the coolest blog in town...Mine.

I'm reading 3 ton AC and 4 ton AC and thinking "What the ???" then I remember that you are in Florida while I'm in Ohio and you are likely to not have as much insulation. You might be better off with the 3 ton unit and spend the difference on insulation to reduce your electric bill. It's really a bummer to turn off the AC because it's too expensive. I think there is a rule change coming in a few months that requires a higher EER for air conditioners. This might make this year's models a lot cheaper or it might make this year's models disappear overnight to be replaced by more expensive models. Are you looking at an air conditioner or heat pump? You have to be ready for those cold PCB nights.
You can save on the kitchen costs by getting a hotplate and an old microwave. OK, seriously, are you looking at a free standing oven or a drop in unit that is built into the cabinets? Do you want self cleaning? Ceramic-glass or metal heating surfaces?
Also, if anyone want to see who Felix is, look here: http://wkehr.tripod.com/Felix/
The AC is must have.
Can't live here without AC. I just won't do it.
The AC unit will be a 12SEER 4 ton self contained ac with self contained electric heater and blower unit. So it is basicly as close to plug and play hvac as you can get.
The reason I am going with a 4 ton is so that we can use it later if we build a new house or buy a bigger manufactured home.
If we build a bigger house then the 4 ton will be perfect and run less often with the better insulation.
If we buy a newer bigger mobile home then the 4 ton 12 seer will run less.
I was planning on JUST an AC unit with no heater and then use a space heater since it never gets that cold, but Tami doesn't like the idea of having a space heater around the boys so the price went up to 1800 to have the same unit WITH a heater added.
The stove is going to be an electric range oven self cleaning with glass top.
We already found the one we want at lowes for $300.00. Yes we could shop around for used or refurbished, but I would rather just buy new with a warranty.
We might even be able to upgrade the fridge, or get the dishwasher installed. Still have to wait and see.
((((HUGS))))
I feel all squishy inside!
