Shocked, and Disgusted.
I am still a little shocked, and alot pissed off.
Here is the blurb from the AP.
Rev. Ken Hutcherson, pastor of Antioch Bible Church in the east Seattle suburb of Redmond - also home to Microsoft - said he would officially make the call for the boycott Thursday on a national conservative talk radio show, Focus on the Family.
"We're tired of sitting around thinking that morals can be ignored in our country," he said. "This is not a threat, this is a promise. Check out the past presidential election. We made the moral issue the No. 1 issue."
Last week, several companies, including Microsoft Corp., Boeing Co., Hewlett Packard Co., and Nike Inc. signed a letter urging passage of the measure, which would add "sexual orientation" to a state law that already bans discrimination in housing, employment and insurance based on race, gender, age, disability, religion, marital status and other factors.
Yeah yeah, so what right!
These wingnuts are all over the place. This guy is right there beside Dobson and his little fascist zombies.
Except for the fact that this is Rev. Ken Hutcherson.

I just don't know what to think.
Is it really that easy for a black guy to knowingly, and outright evangelically call for the discrimination of other people simply because they are different than he is in one aspect of their life?
Does that mean that housing, employment and insurance can be denied to athiests?
I do seem to remember some small part of the bible declaring it a sin and immoral to not believe in G*D at all right?
What about pagans?
What about budhists?
Taoists?
Muslims?
Only Evangelical Christians deserve any manner of respect or dignity or rights? This is disgusting. And they should be ashamed of themselves. And we should be ashamed of ourselves for not slapping them open handed in the mouth for the way they are acting.
We are all Americans. And being an American means being free to make those choices and live the way you want as long as you are not directly hurting anyone.
Otherwise we are no different than the Taliban or the Radical Muslim Terrorists we are supposed to be ridding the world of.
Just blatantly disgusting.
Again my fellow americans make me ashamed to be part of this thundering crapball of a democracy which is quickly rolling directly through the gates of Fascist Theocracy.
Don't quite follow you here bro.
1. who are they boycotting
2. WHY????????
They are tryuing to boycott the listed companies in the quote above.
Mainly Microsoft, Nike, and Ford Motorcorp, Hewlett Packard, and Boeing.
All these companies and many more signed a letter stating that they think the state of washington should add the term "Sexual Orientation" to the civil rights statute that says someone cannot be denied housing, employment insurance or loans based on their RACE, gender, age, religion, disability or marital status.
So the new legislation would simply say RACE,(always first of course) gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation or marital status.
Thats all.
Homosexuals want to be treated just like anyone else.
And there is no reason they shouldn't be.
I'll argue this to the end of my life.
There is no good reason gay people should be treated any differently than any of us.
They should be able to get married if they want, they should be able to serve in the military if they want.
Right now gay people are the new Black people.
They are being directly discriminated against.
Group A can get married and have all the legal protections and rights that go along with that.
Group B cannot get married and have none of the legal protections or rights that go along with marriage.
What is the difference between Group A and Group B.
Group A wants to marry Heterosexually.
Group B wants to marry Homosexually.
Group A is the Majority.
Group B is the minority.
Group A can do something and is attempting to specificly deny Group B that same ability.
That is discrimination at it's purest most disgusting form. And it is unconstitutional.
When asked about his view of gay marriage the Vice President said that he supports the administrations stand on the issue.
When asked his personal view:
Dick Cheney-" Well, to me Freedom means Freedom for everybody."
And he is right.
When you can say that Christianity doesn't like homosexuality so we need to make legal binding articles to the constitution banning all gay marriage and denial of these rights to that minority, you have just crossed the line.
You have left behind a free democracy and accepted a majoral theocracy.
Majoral theocracy is what you have in all the middle eastern countries that we say are inhumane, and dictatorships.
You have social law directly connected to the interpretations of religous script controlled by whatever faction of that religion happens to be A: most populace, or B: most powerfull.
It is a Fascist Theocracy at that point.
Even if you have elected officials they are still a republic standard, where only a ruling cast that are in line with the theocratic lien have the option of being elected in the first place.
That is no longer a democracy. That is no longer true to the principles of the constitution. Hell not just the principles, the actual articles of the constitution. The laws.
We are just throwing them out the window and spending more time worrying about who is having sex with whom.
It is more important to current religous leaders to make sure that the people who come to their church know about the Political Action Commitee that part of the churches donations supports than what it means to really try to live as G*D wanted us to.
It is a higher priority that they spend time gossiping about and worrying about homosexuals than to try to reach out to people who may not have much or any faith at all.
It is..........depressing.
And it's too much.
I will agree that GOD wants us to love the person and hate the sin. IT IS A SIN IN HIS EYES.
I personnaly am appalled that YOU would attack this man for standing up and speaking out for HIS moral beliefs. Is not every person granted these rights. By attacking Rev. Hutcherson for his comments and screaming that as a black man he has no right to discriminate against gays. You are discriminating against him and every Religion that does not embrace the gay community. Political Correctness is a fickle B*tch my friend. Because in reality everyone has a right to there beliefs but in PC land if you believe it, you cannot say it, because it might OFFEND!!!!!!!
Rev. Hutcherson and the religiuos community hold marriage and the sanctity of it very high. I believe as they do. In my opinion it should be between a man and a woman period, because that is how GOD intended.
I would have no problem changing the tax and some other laws to include gays. Better yet just go to a flat tax and be done with it....... I would NEVER agree to rewriting the definition of marriage.
Look at all the countries that have caved to these liberal NAZI's (THATS RIGHT they are LIBERNAZI's JUST like the FEMINAZI's. Because just like Hitler it will never be enough until everyone bends to there will and beliefs). There divorce rates are through the roof. There moral standards are non-exsistant. They are being overrun by Muslim extremist because the LIBERNAZI's are protecting the rights of all people except the silent majority.
Every goverment that has turned its back on the bible and its teachings and ripped apart the moral fibers that hold us together is reaping the rotten fruit that they have sown. Would you honestly want to live anywhere else in the world????? If so; that is the beauty of America if you don't like it leave.
I'm not attacking him for speaking his mind.
Not at all.
I am attacking him for attempting to usurp the constitution and turn the democracy I live and breathe into a theologic autocrasy!
Just because his religion thinks something is wrong, that it is justified to enact a constitutional law to make it illegal.
We have more precedent enacting constitutional laws that protect the abilities of other religions to practice what they believe, and the very foundation of what we are supposed to stand for as americans is that freedom means freedom for everyone.
Not just freedom for those with the greatest access to policy makers.
This guy isn't asking that his right be protected.
Noone is trying to deny him his right in any way shape or form.
He still has every right to condemn this practice and lifestyle as much as he wants as long as doing so does not impede the right of those practicing this lifestyle to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Which is directly what he is advocating. Denying them a priviledge, that he himself enjoys simply on the basis that his religion doesn't think homosexuality is the right way to do things.
Well Right by Might of majority seems to be an OK idea as long as you believe you are in the majority.
But look at the reality of the situation 20 years from now.
If we start setting the standard that right by might of majority is acceptable under our system, then we have to deal with the reality that any one group, once they are large enough, can and will come strolling through and decimate and re-write the system to their own ends exclusively.
And that is a serious think to consider, knowing that as a religion islam is growing twice as fast as christianity in the world and that caucasions are quickly losing ground as the sociological majority in the US as well.
And the beauty of America is that it is as an ideal the protectorate of the rights of the people who live in it and support it. And as an institution it has no play to begin denying rights or priviledges to anyone simply based on an aspect of their life they cannot affect, race affliction disibility or on choice of lifestyle or other non criminal behaviors.
